With over half the incumbent roster without guaranteed deals for the 2023-24 season, it was always expected that the Chicago Bulls would experience a good deal of turnover this summer.What no one likely had on their offseason checklist, however, was the Bulls shopping their franchise cornerstone Zach LaVine on the trade block.

Despite playing a Miami team without its star forward Jimmy Butler, the Knicks needed every second to escape with a 111-105 win at Madison Square Garden to tie the series at one game apiece before heading to Miami.With Butler out and both Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson cleared to play for New York, it seemed like the Knicks had a good shot to even the series before traveling down South, but nobody told the Heat, who played like a team with no pressure and nothing to lose, moving the ball with confidence and matching the Knicks' usual physicality, often simply being the aggressor themselves.

Let's be honest, things haven't been going great for the Chicago Bulls this season.They've struggled to recapture the success of last season, have failed to find an effective starting point guard, and appear on a trajectory to miss the 2023 NBA Playoffs...
... at least, all that was true, until Patrick Beverley arrived in Chicago.

Despite the divide (or chasm) that has developed between fans opinions on Fred VanVleet, there's no denying that his past couple months of play have been significantly better than his first couple.Coinciding with VanVleet's resurgence, was a dip from Pascal Siakam.The Raptors offense hasn't hit a peak this season.

After rattling off three straight wins, the Knicks have now lost two in a row, allowing 267 combined points to the Timberwolves and Heat which renews questions about the Knicks' defensive ability as the team heads into its playoff push.The biggest area of concern in both losses was the Knicks' ability to defend the three-point shot.

With the Washington Wizards now well into a free fall, they are starting to move up in where they will likely land in the upcoming NBA Draft.With that, comes a larger group of players to choose from.With the Wizards now holding the sixth worst record in the league, it seems likely that they will at least be in the mid lottery and have a strong chance at moving up into the top five.
